Mister MOJO is a living legend of Louisiana roots music — a charismatic performer, innovative songwriter, cultural historian, and tireless ambassador for Cajun, zydeco, and Bayou heritage. For more than four decades, he has brought the fiery spirit of Southwest Louisiana to audiences around the world as the founder and heart of MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies, the enduring band that blends zydeco, Cajun, blues, rock, and New Orleans rhythms into its own irresistible “Red Hot MOJO Music.”
Artist, Innovator, & Cultural Preservationist
His songs — rooted deeply in Louisiana’s Roots Music traditions — resonate with dancers and listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
MOJO’s influence extends beyond performance. In collaboration with zydeco instrument maker Tee Don Landry, he was instrumental in securing induction of the frottoir (zydeco rubboard) into the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of North American History Folk Music collection — a move that preserved an iconic sound of Louisiana Creole culture for future generations.

Mister MOJO’s charismatic stage presence has led him to national and international television stages — including performances on PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WGN, and CMT. A passionate advocate for artists and arts education, MOJO has served on the board of the North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents (NAPAMA) and was honored with its Liz Silverstein Award for Agent/Manager of the Year for mentorship and leadership in the arts community.
